The cars drive Slacker Radio

The cars drive

Slacker Radio is very cool as are NPR Radio features. Some the cars drive features are not yet active but will only enhance content in the future. The blu-ray picture quality is fantastic watched Up, my wife was happy! Not sure how good of a job it does with upconversion so can t rate that. Now I just need my subwoofer for full theater experience. All in all, I did a lot of research too much and just bit the bullet as my other Sony products have treated me well. Best Buy has it for 199 with a free blu ray so very comparable to Amazon price. We ve had this unit up and working for 24 hours now, and we re having a blast. It took about 5 minutes to get the automatic firmware upgrade, and about 2 more to register the unit online. We were watching a movie 5 minutes after that. We are on a 5 mbs DSL line, and our movies stream without interruption, and with excellent picture quality. I don t know how to tell if I m getting HD or not we are still on a standard satellite rig, but the picture is better than I am getting out of my conventional DVD s. The Netflix is GREAT. Youtube works, but it s difficult to search for anything specific. Slacker internet radio is terrific, with limited commercials. WE NEED HULU! If they ll get Hulu on this gadget, I ll drop my satellite immediately. So this is my first experience with Netflix enabled devices, and I m not sure how it could be done better. I know there are other choices, including LG TV s, and standalone boxes like the ROKU. I ended up with this because I got a great bargain with a new Sony LCD. Combining the reputation of quality with Sony, and the ease I had making this work, well, Sony is hard to beat, again. We had Roku and loved it but our dvd player the cars drive replacing so we found Sony BDP-N460 Blu-ray Disc Player. We are hard wired into the player so you would think things would run smoothly. When viewing Netflix movies, almost every one stops and we have to get out of it and then go back and hit resume. Sometimes the unit freezes and we have to unplug it then restart in order to finish viewing. My husband feels it is a NetFlix problem as this only the cars drive with NetFlix. Me, I am not so anybody else having this problem? I would have given this 5 stars, but somehow I got the setup wrong and couldn t see a picture when playing blu-ray discs. Turns out there is a setting for 1080p/24 for true 24 fps that was on, but my television doesn t support it. Still not sure if that was the default or not which would not be a good choice, but either way the support line could not help me.
